Not a big story in a game when 8th rankedAhuachapan (1-9) lost at home to first ranked Metapan (10-1) 99-89 on Thursday. Metapan dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Ahuachapan 's 50. Metapan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Center Brayan Garcia (200-1998) accounted for 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard Mike Jr Wright (201, college: Providence, MT, agency: Fully Feared Sports) came up with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Laos guard Kadeim Jones (191-1999, college: UWG) added 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals respectively for Ahuachapan in the defeat. Four Ahuachapan players scored in double figures. Metapan have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Ahuachapan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Santa Ana and Santiagueno.
